Why I am Running
I believe that the best way I can live out my faith as a Christian is to serve those in my community with the skills and gifts I have. With only 1 other state legislature who is a CPA, I believe that our state needs more people trained in Financial Management and Accounting helping to lead our state and ensure our state spending is transparent and accountable to the people.
Billions of dollars and decisions are made quickly on legislation that can be the life or death of farms, ranchers, economic development, education, and healthcare- and right now, we have just ONE Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the entire state legislature involved in that process. Cody Maynard, CPA has the skills that are needed to help ensure that dollars are saved and spent wisely, that core services are provided, that our state remains financially sound even in uncertain times. Cody will work to bring transparency and efficiency to government processes, return more money to the people, and promote policies that open doors to opportunity for all Oklahomans while defending our constitutional freedoms and religious liberties.
